Today I chose a science project to do that was very cool!!
Here are the things you will need to do it.
- 3 matches
- 1 penny
- Match box
- 1 small cardboard platform
The first thing you will need to do, is cut your matches. Cut them so that one is longer than the other!
Once you have finished this, You can then poke a small hole in the cardboard
(just big enough for the match to go through.)
Next you will put your match in the hole sticking it up vertically.
Place the penny beside the match (about one inch away.)
Lean the second match against the first match, making sure that one end is on the penny.
(This step can be challenging.)
Before lighting the match, see if you can slide the penny out without making anything fall. (You can't do that right?)
Well I have a trick! Watch closely to what happens to the matches once you light them.
Get the third match and light it on the match box. Use it to light the middle of the two matches.
(Watch what happens.)
The two middle matches should light very fast. The flame will go down the match.
(Then just watch...)
This is the result...
And then you can very simply take the penny without any thing falling!!
Be sure to blow it out when all of it is done!
Thanks for reading!!
If you know why this happens, then please say in the comments!
