Garlic Bread

We all love garlic bread. But have you ever made your own bread to go with it??

In this posting I will show you my all time favorite recipe. Here are the things you will need.

  •  3 and 1/4 cups of flour
  • 2 teaspoons of yeast (I will show in the picture)
  • 1and 1/2 cups of cool water (not cold)
  • Cornmeal 

The first step is to get a medium sized bowl, and put your flour, yeast, And salt in it!

Slowly pour the water in to the mix and then mix together.

I like to give it a quick mix by hand, then use an electric mixer for the rest. (About 2 mins)

When you take it out it should be a stick blob. Shape the dough in to a ball.

(I put flour on my hands so the dough did not stick.)

Then get another bowl and pour a tiny bit of olive oil in. Then spread it around with your hands.

Take your dough out and poop it in to your bowl. Then take a tea towel and lay it in top of the bowl.

Then place the bowl in the oven with the light on.

(So the dough can stay warm, but does not bake.)

The next step is to wait. I let my dough sit in the oven for 2 and 1/2 Hours before I did the Next step. Once that is done you will notice your dough has risen a lot!!!

From here you are going to take your dough out and slice it in half as evenly as you can.

Take your cornmeal, and evenly sprinkle the tray with it.

Then make you dough in to a log shape and put on the tray.

And sadly again, you have to wait another 45 mins. Put the cloth over the tray and put in the oven again.

Once that is done, again you can look and see they have expanded even more.

Pre-Heat your over to 475 F.

Separate and make them back in to the shape you want, then you get to bake the bread!!!

But first make sure cut slits in it.

Then, put boiling water in crock pot on the lower shelf of your oven.

Quickly take the bread and put it over the boiling water.

And shut the oven door as fast as you can.

Close the door and let it cook for 20 mins. Wile it’s cooking, you can start making your garlic sauce. You will simply need...

  • Garlic 
  • Butter 
I like mine very garlicky so you don’t have to use as much as I did.😁
Melt about 1/4 cup of butter in a bowl and then, using a garlic presser, squash the garlic in with The butter.

Next test the mixture to see if it tastes good. If it does then let it sit for About 20 minutes Until it’s sort of the consistency of pudding or mashed potato.

Next wait until your bread is finished baking, then take out of the oven and let cool for about 20 mins. Ones your bread is cool, slice in half longways.

Now you can begin spreading your butter and garlic mixture on the bread. Evenly spread the mixture over your bread. Make sure you put more butter mixture on the top half of your bread so that gravity does not pull all of the butter mixture onto the bottom loaf.

Let the mixture sit on the bread open faced for a couple minutes then Then put it together and carefully wrap it in tinfoil. The very last step it’s pretty easy, all you have to do is take your bread, still wrapped in tinfoil and preheat the oven to 400 F. then let sit until the butter mixture has nicely melted into the bread. Take out and enjoy!!
